Balhans College of Social Work

Balhans College of Social Work has emerged as an important center of social work education in the state of Gujarat and especially in South Gujarat. The college and the trustees are constantly striving to realize the values and objectives of the social work profession. The college places great emphasis on the formation of professional values and ethics along with employment through social work education. More than 99% of the people of the tribal community live in the local area. Then our college is constantly striving to provide social work education in the local context and in the local Gujarati language. Geographically, the college is located on the border of Narmada and Bharuch districts. In addition, Tapi district is also close. Thus, since the college is located among the tribal majority areas of South Gujarat, the important goal of the college has been to create culture, value formation and employment opportunities in the tribal community through education. The result has been 100% since its establishment. 99% of the students in the classroom are from the tribal community and more than 70% of the total students are girls joining MSW training. Thus, the college and the institution are trying to realize both the objectives of tribal welfare and girl education. 100% government scholarship is given to the weaker section students. Separate hostel facilities are available for girls and boys at the college. There is a system of imparting education using ICT technology by qualified and experienced staff as per the norms of UGC.
